Dear Financial Representatives,

The University’s Property Policy (4-OP-D-2-F) provides direction for the purchasing, recording, safeguarding, and disposing of university and government owned assets.  As a reminder, departments are responsible for safeguarding university property, including attractive/sensitive items.  Departments should ensure that attractive property is identified, tracked, and effectively managed, including devices containing sensitive data.  In order to facilitate compliance with university policy, the Controller’s Office recommends departments review the property policy for department responsibilities and the Attractive Items Best Practices Guide for information to consider when identifying and managing attractive/sensitive property.
