One Big, Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA): No Tax on Overtime
Starting in 2025, a new federal tax deduction allows eligible workers to deduct the premium portion of their overtime pay, such as the “half” in “time-and-a-half” compensation, from their taxable income. This applies to overtime required under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
