Concur – International Travel Process Update

Improvements have been made to the international Travel Request process. As part of the Travel Request, international travelers will now be able to complete the required attestation inside of Concur. They will no longer be prompted to attach the International Travel Attestation Form.

Please note that student travelers and international visitors do not need to comply with the International Travel Attestation process. Use the “Guest” option when selecting Traveler Type in Concur for these individuals.

This change will only impact international travel by faculty and staff, who must select the “Foreign” option from the Trip Type drop-down menu if they will be leaving the United States at any point during their trip.

1. As of October 16th, 2024 when a request is designated as “Foreign", Concur will now require the traveler to submit the Travel Request themselves.

  • Travel Delegates will prepare a Foreign Travel Request as normal but will be unable to fully submit the Request on behalf of the traveler. The Travel Delegate will then need to prompt the traveler to submit.

2. The electronic agreement screen will not allow the user to hit “Accept & Continue” until the user fully reviews the terms of the new International Travel Attestation included in the agreement prior to submitting the Request.

  • This will require the traveler to access Concur and submit the Request. Note: By reviewing the terms and conditions of the electronic agreement, the traveler is providing a digital signature and attestation to the necessary terms for international travel preapproval.

3. International Travel Requests will then route within Concur to FSU’s Office of Compliance and Ethics for preapproval as the Request Administrator.

  • As part of the review process, FSU’s Office of Compliance and Ethics may reach out directly should additional information or documentation be required.

Prior to the submission of their Travel Request, travelers should review FSU’s International Travel Guidance which covers the listed topics. The guidance document is available here: https://compliance.fsu.edu/international-travel.
